This study extent knowledge on the importance of corporate political activity (CPA) of companies in Indonesia in order to influence government decisions and decision-making proses. This thesis reviews recent literatures in this area and integrate them to depict what CPA is, the antecedents of CPA and why companies implement CPA in other country. The literature were later used as a guidance and comparison to study about CPA in Indonesia. This thesis study about the preferred strategies or approaches and objectives of firms in conducting corporate political action. This study use qualitative research strategy with content analysis by analysing information in corporate profiles and reported news regarding firm political activity and business-politics relation in Indonesia. Moreover, qualitative research method by interview was also used in this study. Researcher interviewed firm representatives in order to get information about Corporate Political Action from firm point of view. The result of the study implied that firms in Indonesia also conduct Corporate Political Action and maintain relationship with government in order to influence government decision and decision making process. This strategy were either directly or indirectly conducted by firms. Furthermore, the finding of this study is expected to provide knowledge about preferred approaches use by firm and their objectives when influencing government decision and decision-making process.
