The dynamic role of road transport systems to the development of any country or nation cannot be underestimated. Transport systems can help nations irrespective of the levels of growth and development to realize the benefits that arise out of regional blocs. As a sufficient condition, it is viewed as a tool for accessing national and regional trade in a radically changing global environment. However, in the process of developing such infrastructures, human settlements are affected economically, socially and environmentally. Therefore, it is against this background that this research aims at giving a clear insight of how such systems may have potential influence on human settlements by identifying the various aspects in which they are influenced by using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the results of the research showed that economically, the goods and services were available though quality varied across the village and the prices were a bit hiked because of the high demand for these goods as demand was rising while supply was constant and this indicated rising income for such service and commodity providers. While environmentally, results showed negative impacts and there was negative social influence as well.
