Artwork since the beginning has been designed to be executed in space that can be accessed by anyone without preconditions is an understanding of the art in public space globally. In the development of the art of public space in Indonesia has a unique, ranging from the funding system to the execution stage of works. Relational art is the latest development in the variety of execution of works of art in the public space today, through phenomenological studies on the basis of the involvement of participants in the work of art through their experience. The chosen scientific approach is interdisciplinary, namely relational art as the basic method of creation by involving various elements other than artists and ethnography which reinforces each stage of the creation method, as a new method for creating and placing artwork in public spaces, installation art methods used to combine elements these elements in one work. Bandung is now in the spotlight as a City of Design, member of UCCN (UNESCO Creative Cities Network), the improvement of public spaces and the development of city areas to new areas make the city's dynamic growth, the differences in history, culture and social life compared to other big cities such as Jakarta and Yogyakarta making art in public space in Bandung interesting to study and to explore as a concept of an artwork. The mapping of artworks in public space present through the auction method, direct method and expertise method, as well as experimental works that created during this research will become a reinforcing data in presenting alternative methods for creating artwork in public spaces in Bandung City, or other regions that has similar potential.
