This study investigates the optimization of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) hubs in the North-West Java region, focusing on developing an efficient and economically viable system to reduce carbon emissions. Four potential reservoirs—CINTA, RAMA, KRISNA, and ZELDA— were identified with a combined storage capacity of 17.41 million tons (MT). Emission sources, including the Muara Karang Power Plant, were evaluated for their suitability for integration into the CCS/CCUS network. Using the Python programming language, the study optimized the pipeline network, considering factors like diameter, pump placement, and energy requirements, to ensure efficient CO? transport. Economic analysis, incorporating costs of capture, transport, storage, and revenue from enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and carbon credits, revealed a total network cost of $887.88 million and projected revenue of $2555.23 million, resulting in a substantial profit of $1667.35 million. Specifically, the total cost from all sources amounted to $430.02 million, the total cost from all destinations was $152.03 million, and the total transport cost was $55.95 million. The Net Present Value (NPV) of the project was calculated to be $13,378 million, and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) was 20%. The study provides a comprehensive model for CCS/CCUS implementation, offering valuable insights and practical solutions that can be replicated in other regions with similar geological and economic conditions. This demonstrates that a well-planned CCS/CCUS hub can effectively reduce CO? emissions while generating significant economic returns.
