This research designs a blockchain-based music monetization platform that
represents each song as an ERC-721 standard NFT, aiming to address the lack
of transparency and high royalty cuts faced by independent musicians. Three
smart contracts—MusicNFT, NFTMarketplace, and NFTStreaming—are
developed using the Solidity programming language and tested on the Sepolia
network through a Next.js-based web prototype integrated with MetaMask.
Guided by the Design Science Research Methodology framework, the proposed
solution is evaluated through unit testing, integration testing, and static analysis
using Slither, showing that all core system functions operate as specified with no
critical vulnerabilities found. The results demonstrate that the system enhances
royalty distribution transparency, reduces intermediary costs, and strengthens
fan engagement through digital asset ownership that also confers rights to royalty
income.
