The main objective of this research was to analyze the deformation in the southeast Indonesia. Southeast Indonesia is very unique because it was formed from a collision and also subduction of Eurasian and Australian Plates. Therefore, the deformation of southeast Indonesia is very complex. This research tries to analyze the influence of Australian Plate movement at the research area. The data used were Continuous Global Positioning (CGPS) in 2010-2014, obtained from Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG). The data was processed using GPS Analyze at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (GAMIT) software. Global Kalman Filter (GLOBK) software then used to generate the time series. To determine the influence of Australian Plate, the velocity from the coordinate data should be deducted by the velocity of Eurasian Plate. From the calculation, it is known that the velocity vector of observed points is 34.44 ± 0.9 mm/year to 74.98 ± 0.8 mm/year. After the velocity obtained, strain is generated. From the calculation, western part of this research area is experiencing extension and compression with almost the same rate at 0.4 ?strain. It is assumed that there is a shear fault at the area. On the other hand, eastern part is experiencing compression more than extension. This indicates that eastern part is more influenced by Australian Plate movement towards the Eurasian Plate. This study still has many deficiencies, such as limited observation stations. However, this research is expected to be widened initial step for other research in the southeast Indonesia. By noticing the unique geodynamical behavior of the research area, further research must be conducted or even expanded covering the entire eastern Indonesia.
