Air transport networks play an important role in connecting geographically dispersed regions, particularly in archipelagic countries such as Indonesia. This study analyzes the structural characteristics of the Indonesian Air Transport Network (IATN) and compares them with other Asian air transport networks using a complex network approach. The IATN was constructed as a directed network from scheduled domestic flight data in 2018, comprising 140 airports, 885 directed routes, and approximately 101.96 million passengers. The results show that the IATN is strongly connected, with an average degree of 12.643, an average shortest path length of 2.794, and an average clustering coefficient of 0.484, while its degree distribution exhibits characteristics consistency with a truncated power-law pattern. Centrality analysis identifies Soekarno-Hatta (CGK), Sultan Hasanuddin (UPG), and Juanda (SUB) as prominent airports, while El Tari (KOE) exhibits relatively high betweenness centrality despite having fewer direct connections. The network also exhibits negative degree assortativity and forms six communities, indicating a diverse and regionally structured domestic air transport network. Comparison with other Asian air transport networks reveals both similarities and differences in their connectivity, clustering, and degree-distribution characteristics.
