This study examines how leaders’ language accommodation shapes employees’ affective and cognitive trust in multilingual workplaces in China and Singapore. In multinational corporations, leadership effectiveness increasingly depends on communicative competence across linguistic and cultural boundaries. While prior research has extensively examined leadership communication and trust, existing studies are largely Western-centric, quantitative in nature, and often treat language as a neutral transmission tool rather than a relational resource. Moreover, limited research has integrated Communication Accommodation Theory with a multidimensional understanding of trust in Asian organisational contexts.
