Ornamental fish are fish that are deliberately kept for display, decoration, or as pets. Indonesia as an archipelagic country whose territory is dominated by bodies of water is certainly one of the largest exporters of ornamental fish in the world. One of the ornamental fish commonly traded both domestically and internationally is the Betta fish (Betta sp.). This fish is one of the freshwater fish endemic to Indonesian waters that is obtained by being caught wild or by being selectively bred, both of which have different appeals and market segmentation. Overfishing can lead to the reduction and extinction of fish, and if released without regulation, these fish can become invasive species. Although fish are animals that are often kept, the treatment of fish is different from other pets such as dogs, cats, poultry, and reptiles. The use of the terms "ornamental" and "ornamental" also implies that society has a common view that fish and aquariums are merely decorations to compliment a room. Therefore, this interior installation work is created to tickle the perception of the objectified view of betta fish as a form of education about the implications of ecological and ethical problems in the ornamental fish trade.
