One of service products in Smart Economy cluster in Garuda Smart City Framework is Smart Parking, which is an ICT integrated parking lot to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of current parking system. One part of parking system that can be improved is parking gate system, which currently depends heavily on human resource in form of guards to make sure drivers pay parking fees according to service rate inside the system. This current system is not efficient because some of the work processeses are done manually, while also providing less information because of incomplete recorded data inside database. Recent COVID-19 plague that had happened for 3 years encourages people to provide their services with systems that avoid unnecessary physical contact. One of the recurring solutions that can be taken for these problems are integrating Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) into current parking system. Automatically taken by CCTV camera, system will process vehicle image to be able to read its number plate automatically so that work processes become more efficient (fast). Moreover, physical contact can be avoided. A microcomputer, such as Raspberry Pi 4, is used to accommodate the whole computation of ANPR programs created by Python and the parking system as a whole.
