There has been a significant decrease in the production of oil over time. It is estimated that approximately thirty enormous fields contain approximately half of these reserves. Their development necessitates the implementation of cost-effective techniques and effective reservoir management. The government of Indonesia has set a goal of achieving 1 million barrels per day by 2030 and is currently in the process of exploring new fields. Effective reservoir management is essential in this scenario, especially for countries such as Indonesia, where oil production is predominantly decreasing over the time. One promising approach to enhance oil recovery in Indonesia is the strategic placement of infill wells. This study explores enhancing oil production through infill drilling guided by an analytical approach and SOI maps. The analytical approach is used to determine the number of proposed wells in the “X” field. Using reservoir simulation, the study identifies the optimal infill scenario for the "X" field that analyzes with the creaming curve. The reservoir and production forecast was conducted around a 20-year production period from 2023 until 2043. The history matching helps to ensure the simulation accuracy by aligning dynamic data with production history. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into optimizing oil production in Indonesia.
