ABSTRAK: Recently human activity is getting complex and high tendency to reach the wider area. One important thing to support is the availability of good transportation facility. Air Transportation, one of transportation system, is becoming important for its few advantages among others. Increasing in demand of air transportation is followed by increase of airline company and its quality services that caused high competitive in industry. Couping that condition, management forced to make decision faster and better, so they need the appropriate information. One important component or airline management is route management. This thesis discussed one of the route profitability variable, discounted fares for any condition of seat load factor & fares. Case study takes place in PT Garuda Indonesia route Denpasar-Rome. Analysis of Garudas historical data for route Denpasar-Rome from January 1995 to October 1996 shows that even though the average monthly seat load factor is relatively high but revenue generated do not cover overall flight cost. In that case, managemet have to prepared improvement activity to maintain its profitability. One of them is discounted fares desicion. By doing profitability analysis management will get the information of its route performance, the effectiveness of the operation and target revenue generated. The discounted fares prediction is usefull to judge the appropriateness of its discounted fares desicion at one time and situation.
