ABSTRACT: PT Mitra Prima Sagita Lestari (PT. MPSL), area distributor for product G-Force battery, Massiv Battery and Massiv-XP Battery for West Java area, is anxious to realize that its existence in the distribution channel might be in a high risk to be eliminated in the future. It is not the question of how good the company was performed but simply the business situation that required efficient and cost effective in order to be survived in hyper-competition market. In the recent development, the business environment seems shifting to the different direction. With the sky-rocketing raw material price, such as lead, raw material for battery, and high operating cost due to escalating price of gas/diesel and adjustment of remuneration, it crushed the company for lower margin. Whether we are ready or not, we have to realize that here we are in the twenty first century, where globalization has shaped our business environment and behavior. And it does not stop here but keep moving faster than no one can imagine what future business environment can be. Hyper-competition and globalization grant real challenges to the strategic management of PT Mitra Prima Sagita Lestari. It comes to the issue of how the company obtains with their environments and makes a necessary adjustment to survive.
