The Global Crisis in the year 2008 caused the stock prices to decrease drastically. The Indonesian Stock Market decreased their stock prices 50% on the average. This condition influenced the participation of the investors. They contributed 19.43% market capitalization in comparison to the total gross domestic product (GDP) in 2008 (according to Antara News.com on 6th October 2009). Compared to our neighbours, Singapore (93.6%) and Malaysia (60.68%), they have a higher percentage of market capitalization compared to their gross domestic products. This condition reveals that our investors have a tendency to invest on other investment products, such as bonds and current account.
