In aerospace engineering, accurately estimating the location parameter (?) of a three parameters Weibull distribution is essential for modeling failure behavior in critical components such as aircraft structures, propulsion systems, and avionics. Traditional methods for estimating ? often rely on manual trial-and-error approaches, which can be time-consuming and computationally demanding. This research presents the development of an application designed to estimate the location parameter ? (gamma) of a three parameters Weibull distribution, utilizing a R-Squared approach combined with the Golden Section Search method. The proposed application automates the iterative search process for the optimal ? by systematically narrowing down the search space using the Golden Section method, a widely used in optimization technique. Comparative analysis with Microsoft Excel Solver shows this approach minimizes computational effort such as reducing the time to set up and also reducing the amount of calculation runtime for each dataset upto 80%, while ensuring high precision in parameter estimation for each dataset that maximize the R-Squared value.
