CHAPTER V CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION This chapter consisted of a brief a summary of this project, as well as its findings and analysis that have been conducted in the previous chapter. This chapter also includes recommendation for Tahu Saribumi Sumedang. The result of the analyzed data is used to answer the research question. 5.1Conclusion Tahu Saribumi Sumedang is ttofu restaurant that has been established since 1971. However, the restaurant itself was facing decreasing of revenue each year. From the preliminary interview, it is found that the decreasing of revenue caused by the decline of buyers who come to the restaurant, it is supported by the location of a restaurant is not strategic. Furthermore, the restaurant itself does not strategy in running their business. Tahu Saribumi has no plan or goals that need to be achieved. They do not know what to do to run their business in the further step because there is no vision and mission. To run the business, the company must have vision and mission which is needed to make business strategy. This caused by business strategy emphasizes long-term performance, thus vision and mission is one requirement that must exist to determine the company's future steps. In business strategy, there is environmental scanning to know the external and internal condition of the company. As well as Tahu Saribumi, the external current condition in the restaurant is experiencing some obstacles which make it as a threat such as natural disasters that can happen anytime, the changes of government regulation, increasing the price of main raw materials, and the last one many competitors in tofu industry which already do the marketing activities. In the other side the restaurant has huge opportunities that gives them good prospect in restaurant development. The opportunities are they got a large target market of the customers and low competition for incomers restaurant and substitute product. This caused by Tahu Saribumi is a senior restaurant and with serving affordable price of tofu. Furthermore, the internal condition in Tahu Saribumi which highlight the strength of the restaurant are they have a strong bonding and transparency of employees’ culture, the restaurant served tasty tofu and the last one the services is good. In addition, they also have some weaknesses that become a challenge for the company itself such as non-strategic location as mention in the first paragraph, unclear the financial record, the restaurant itself does not have regulation which make employees have unclear job position. Out of all strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat, there is some factors that influenced company performance based on SFAS (Strategy Factors Analysis Summary). SFAS can be obtained from External Factors Analysis Summary and Internal Factors Analysis Summary. From the table SFAS, the high total score goes to WO (weaknesses and Opportunities). WO strategy has a high total score around 4.8059. Thus, the researcher will use WO strategy as the main concern to make a business strategy for Tahu Saribumi Sumedang. 5.2Recommendation Business Strategy Business strategy emphasizes improvement of the competitive position of company’s products or services in the specific industry or market segment. From SFAS matrix there is strategy that can be used by Tahu Saribumi restaurant called WO strategy. WO strategy is one of the strategies that will be used to fix the problems in this restaurant. First of all, to make a business strategy Tahu Saribumi must have vision and mission of the company itself in order to have a goal in the future. The vision and mission of Tahu Saribumi are: Vision: Become a restaurant franchise of Tahu Sumedang which spread over strategic areas in Indonesia Mission: 1.Constantly make an innovation in product and services 2.Bring sumedang's tofu to wider market in order to be well-known by people 3.Serving aunthentic high quality food with affordable price 4.Give mutual benefit between consumers, employees, business partners and raw material suppliers Tahu Saribumi From the vision and mission above, researcher makes recommendation strategic formulation based on strategic management. The recommendation of business strategy for Tahu Saribumi Sumedang is use strategy differentiation, the researcher will differentiate the product of Tahu Saribumi among the competitors by making special feature of the product. This strategy is adjusting with the current condition of Tahu Saribumi itself. As the mission of Tahu Saribumi to become a pioneer of tofu restaurant which spread all over the big city in Indonesia, Tahu Saribumi must follow the happening market conditions and trend by making short and long-term plan such as below: Short-term plan: 1)New Product Development Packaging: Packaging will be use box with traditional batik Sumedang design. The reason of the use this packaging is to attract the broader potential customers because of the uniqueness of the packaging. Also, box packaging has another function, which is to keep the quality of big amount tofu. Further purpose become a unique packaging to differentiate from competitors Variant of Tofu The researcher give a recommendation to add four new menus for Tahu Saribum. Besides they sell original food, they also sell variant of tofu like these: 1.Tahu Geprek: Tahu Geprek is smashed tofu that combine with hot chili.
