Some policies have been revised in order to raise either the public, or private sectors’ concern with their waste. However, the uncontrolled dumping and improper waste handling in Indonesia leads to variety of problems that needs the more comprehensive system. In Bandung, the amount of plastic waste generated has been increased gradually every year. This has triggered the needs of integrated plastic waste system development in Bandung city. The development will be delivered in a policy suggestion for the local government. Therefore, the need for system dynamic modeling is considered as the most appropriate approach to manage the plastic waste management systematically, without overlooking other important aspects. There are two scenarios simulated in this research, waste source separation and waste collection scheduling. From the result, waste collection scheduling is considered as the best alternative for plastic waste system development. However, to provide an excellent precision, the more specific model for sub systems of plastic waste system process is required for further research. Koleksi digital milik UPT Perpustakaan ITB untuk keperluan pendidikan dan penelitian ii ABSTRAK PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH PLASTIK DI BANDUNG DENGAN PENDEKATAN MODEL SISTEM DINAMIK Edwina Triwibowo 29012009 (Master of Science in Management) Institut Teknologi Bandung Masalah lingkungan merupakan isu global yang menjadi penggerak tiap negara untuk memperbaiki regulasinya agar lebih ramah lingkungan, termasuk di Indonesia. Beberapa regulasi telah diperbarui demi meningkatkan kepedulian, baik di sektor publik ataupun swasta. Akan tetapi, penanganan sampah yang tidaksistematis, menimbulkan berbagai macam masalah lingkungan, sehingga dibutuhkan suatu perbaikan dalam sistem penanganan sampah di Indonesia. Di Bandung, jumlah sampah plastik yang dihasilkan masyarakat terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Hal ini menjadi pemicu dari kebutuhan pengembangan regulasi sistem penanganan sampah plastik di Bandung. Banyaknya pihak yang akan terlibat dalam pengembangan regulasi tersebut menjadikan sistem dinamik dengan sudut pandang holistik dinilai sebagai pendekatan yang paling sesuai. Ada 2 buah skenario yang dikembangkan, yaitu pemisahan sampah dari sumbernya dan jadwal pengambilan jenis sampah yang berbeda. Hasil dari simulasi menunjukkan bahwa skenasio 2 mampu menghasilkan peningkatan sistem pengelolaan sampah yang lebih baik.
