1 CHAPTER I Introduction I.1 Background The development of the digital era has significantly changed different aspects of professional and educational environments, particularly due to the extensive use of e- learning platforms. These platforms provide several advantages, such as adaptable learning schedules, access to an extensive collection of resources, and potential for customized learning experiences. Nevertheless, the rise of online learning has also led to a surge in misconduct and dishonesty, namely among those who participate in e- learning programs for their professional growth. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the various factors that contribute to dishonesty in e-learning among employees in a Healthcare company. Using the Fraud Triangle Model Factor, this study will examine the motivations that encourage such behaviour. In the ever changing healthcare profession, ongoing education and training are of utmost importance. The implementation of e-learning has fundamentally transformed the process by which healthcare workers gain new knowledge and develop their abilities. E-learning, which refers to the utilization of electronic technologies to access educational curriculum beyond the confines of a conventional classroom, plays a key role in ensuring that healthcare firms maintain their position at the forefront of medical 2 developments and patient care standards. Moreover, an inherent benefit of e-learning is its high level of accessibility. Healthcare professionals frequently endure extended work hours and unpredictable shifts, which poses difficulties in participating in conventional face-to-face training sessions. E-learning platforms provide the convenience of accessing courses at any time and from any location, allowing for uninterrupted study without interfering with busy schedules. A study conducted by (Zhang et al., 2023) found that e-learning offers healthcare personnel the opportunity to learn at their own pace, which is essential for comprehending intricate medical ideas and processes. In addition, e-learning overcomes geographical limitations, enabling healthcare organizations to deliver uniform training to personnel in various locations (Schlenz et al., 2020). This is especially advantageous for international healthcare firms that require to guarantee uniform training quality and adherence to regulations on a global scale. Furthermore, e-learning is more economical in comparison to conventional training approaches (Amarneh et al., 2021). Conventional face-to-face training incurs substantial costs associated with travel, lodging, renting a location, and producing printed materials. On the other hand, e-learning diminishes or eradicates these expenses. In addition, the healthcare sector is distinguished by swift progress in medical technology, treatment regimens, and regulatory mandates (Abdekhoda et al., 2022). E-learning facilitates the rapid distribution of fresh information and updates to healthcare firms' workers. The World Health Organization (WHO) asserts that ongoing 3 education is crucial for healthcare workers to uphold their competence and deliver care of exceptional quality.
