Pendekatan dilakukan dengan proses identifikasi, terhadap klaim bahwa Pulau Tidore yang dihipotesiskan sebagai wilayah Kesultanan Tidore dengan menerapkan metodologi ruang budaya. Metodologi ruang budaya adalah suatu metode yang menyediakan prosedur untuk menilai keaslian hubungan yang telah berlangsung lama antara masyarakat adat dan tanahnya berdasarkan berbagai domain yang saling terkait. Ada tiga domain yang menjadi dasar untuk penelitian ini. Domain tersebut mencakup domain ke-1 yang berupa praktik sosial dan objek berupa cerita rakyat, dan peninggalan arkeologis yang mencerminkan hubungan masyarakat adat dengan wilayahnya. Domain ke-2 berupa aspek Administrasi Pertanahan, struktur wilayah, struktur pemerintahan, dan sistem penguasaan lahan. Serta domain ke-3 yang berupa fungsi sosial, ekonomi, lingkungan, dan ruang fisik dari wilayah tersebut untuk Kesultanan Tidore dan begitupun sebaliknya. Setelah analisis dilakukan, didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan antara Kesultanan Tidore dan wilayahnya di Pulau Tidore. Selain itu, Masyarakat Adat Kesultanan Tidore berperan dalam pelestarian adat istiadat dan tradisi bagi masyarakat, khususnya di Pulau Tidore, dan memberikan kontribusi untuk aspek ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan. Kata kunci: Kesultanan Tidore, metodologi ruang budaya, masyarakat adat iii ABSTRACT STUDY OF IDENTIFICATION OF THE TERRITORY OF THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY OF THE TIDORE SULTANATE USING THE CULTUR SPACE METHODOLOGY By Muhammad Ardiansyah Kalfangare NIM: 25120011 (Master’s Program in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering) This research aims to demonstrate the importance of recognizing the territory of the Sultanate of Tidore and to establish that Tidore Island is part of the region once ruled by the Sultanate of Tidore. The approach involves the processes of identification, of claims that Tidore Island is hypothesized as a territory of the Sultanate of Tidore by applying the cultural space methodology. The cultural space methodology is a method that provides procedures to assess the authenticity of the longstanding relationship between indigenous communities and their land based on various interconnected domains. There are three domains that serve as the basis for this research. The first domain includes social practices and objects such as folk stories, shared narratives, and archaeological artifacts reflecting the indigenous community's connection with their territory. The second domain involves Land Administration aspects, covering the territorial structure, governance structure, and land tenure system. The third domain involves the social, economic, environmental, and physical space functions of the territory for both the Sultanate of Tidore and vice versa. After the analysis, the results indicate a clear connection between the Sultanate of Tidore and its territory on Tidore Island. Moreover, the Sultanate of Tidore plays a significant role in preserving customs and traditions for the local community, particularly on Tidore Island, and contributes substantially to economic, social, and environmental aspects.
