103 Chapter V Conclusion and Recommendation This chapter summarizes the Final Project related to “Developing the Strategy for Steel Sales by Scenario Planning Approach in PT Krakatau Steel”. It consists of two short sections, the conclusion on the future scenarios and the strategies needed to develop steel sales in order to dominate the domestic steel market and the recommendations for what is needed for future follow-up for the steel industry to remain dominant in the domestic steel market. V.1 Conclusion Based on the analysis in this Final Project, several conclusions to answer the research question are as follows: • In terms of a plausible scenario for PTKS in the next seven years: - The top five driving forces that influence the industry and business strategy are: 1. Raw material prices 2. Government policy 3. Economic condition 4. Technology 5. Politic/Geopolitics - There are two forces that become critical forces, those are raw material prices and government policy. - There are four plausible scenarios for PTKS, those are: 1. Armageddon It describes a situation where raw material prices are high while the government policies are in favor of domestic steel producers in Indonesia. 2. The King It describes a situation where raw material prices are low while the government policies are in favor of domestic steel producers in Indonesia. 104 3.
