38 CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS V.1. Conclusions 1. Corrosion will occur in the pipe section 49,600 m and in low scenario conditions where there is an impurities water content of 0.5%. The emergence of corrosion is due to the influence of pressure and temperature leading to an expansion in the volume of free water, resulting in its interaction with the pipeline material. 2. The careful choice of materials for the movement of CO 2 through pipelines is of paramount significance, owing to the distinctive problems posed by CO 2 and the imperative for secure and effective conveyance. 3. Pipeline with a size of 12 inches is the optimal pipe used. This can be seen from a EVR, Pressure Drop, and Total Cost. Optimization of pipeline diameter and material selection can contribute to cost reduction in the transportation of CO 2.
