Pada penelitian penambahan paperclip sebagai serat alternatif pada beton yang dilakukan dalam tugas akhir ini, dijelaskan uraian proses pembuatan benda uji dan pengujian benda uji. Pada proses pendahuluan, diawali dengan penjelasan mengenai latar belakang, tujuan penelitian, hipotesis, rumusan masalah, dan sistematika penulisan. Kemudian dijelaskan teori dan jurnal yang dijadikan acuan dalam penelitian yang dilakukan, yaitu ACI 211.1-91, ACI 544.1R-96, Mechanical Properties of Steel Fiber-Reinforced Concrete.

Berdasarkan rumusan masalah direncanakan, dibuat beton mutu K-225 yang berfungsi sebagai dinding non-struktural dalam penelitian. Dilakukan 3 jenis pengujian dalam penelitian ini, yaitu uji tekan, uji tarik, dan uji lentur. Pengujian yang dilakukan akan memberikan nilai kuat tekan, kuat tarik belah, kuat tarik lentur, dan toughness dari masing-masing komposisi beton.

Hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan di laboratorium kemudian diolah. Dari data yang diolah dibuat perbandingan performa tiap komposisi, dan perbandingan harga tiap komposisi. Berdasarkan perbandingan yang dilakukan ini maka kadar optimum paperclip dapat ditentukan.

Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh peningkatan kuat tekan terbesar 9,807% pada kadar 0,75%, peningkatan kuat tarik belah terbesar 13,182% pada kadar 0,75%, peningkatan kapasitas energi terbesar 141,932% pada kadar 1,5%, peningkatan kuat tarik belah terbesar 50,2% pada kadar 1,5%. Peningkatan biaya pada kadar 0,75% adalah 111,702%, dan kadar 1,5% adalah 223,404%. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari perbandingan tiap komposisi, maka diperoleh kadar optimum pada angka 0,75% terhadap volume beton.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

In the study of paperclip addition as alternative fiber on concrete in this final project, explained the details on the process of making the specimen and testing of the specimen. In the preliminary process, begins with an explanation of the background, research objectives, hypotheses, problem formulation, and systematics of writing. Then, explains the theories and journals that are used as reference in research conducted, namely ACI 211.1-91, ACI 544.1R-96, and Mechanical Properties of Steel Fiber-Reinforced Concrete.

Based on the problem formulation, it is decided to make concrete with K-225 quality that serves a non-structural wall in this research. There were 3 types of testing in this study, namely compression test, tensile test, and bending test. Tests performed will provide a value of compressive strength, tensile strength, flexural tensile strength, and toughness of each concrete composition.

Test results that have been done in the laboratory, then processed. From the data processed, comparisons of each composition performance, and composition price are done. Based on this comparison, the optimum level of paperclip can be determined.

The result showed that the biggest compressive strength increase was 9.807% at 0.75%, the largest tensile strength increase was 13.182% at 0.75%, the largest energy capacity increase was 141.932% at 1.5%, and the largest increase in tensile strength 50,2% at a rate of 1.5%. The increase in cost at 0.75% is 111.702%, and the 1.5% level is 223.404%. Based on the data obtained from the comparison of each composition, the optimum level is obtained at 0.75% of the volume fraction of concrete.
