Cekungan Tarakan berpotensi mengandung hidrokarbon, tetapi tidak semua daerah dari cekungan ini yang mengandung hidrokarbon. Pada daerah penelitian ini telah dilakukan upaya eksplorasi. Dari data hasil pengeboran sumur Latih-1, NW Berau-1 dan Bunyut-1 di daerah Penelitian, ditemukan adanya oil dan gas show pada interval Oligosen Awal. Oleh karena itu, dilakukanlah penelitian tentang karakteristik reservoir interval Oligosen Awal pada Cekungan Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara.





Metode penelitian dimulai dengan seismic well tie, interpretasi horizon dan patahan, analisis elektrofasies, korelasi antar sumur, analisis petrofisika, analisis lingkungan pengendapan, peta





Gross Depotional Environment, dan distribusi kualitas reservoir. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah Mengindetifikasi pola struktur dan sedimentasi dari data yang tersedia, menganalisis karakteristik







reservoir interval Oligosen Awal berdasarkan data bawah permukaan, dan mengindetifikasi Paleogeografi dari interval Oligosen Awal.





Berdasarkan hasil dari peta Gross Depotional Environment pada interval Oligosen Awal terdapat 3 lingkungan pengendapan yaitu distal barrier reef, deep shelf dan slope. Sumur pada daerah penelitian hanya menembus 2 fasies yaitu distal barrier reef oleh sumur Latih-1 dan NW Berau-1, dan slope oleh sumur Bunyut-1.





Reservoir pada daerah penelitian berdasarkan urutan kualitas reservoir dan fasies, sebagai berikut:





(1) Reservoir pada lingkungan Deep shelf; (a) Reservoir 1 memiliki nilai porositas 10-26% dan tebal 500-1000 m, (b) Reservoir 2 memiliki nilai porositas 9-22% dan tebal 600-900m, (c) Reservoir 3 memiliki nilai porositas 7-18% dan tebal 500-900 m, (d) Reservoir 5 memiliki nilai





porositas 5-16% dan tebal 500-1000 m. (2) Reservoir pada lingkungan Distal barrier reef; Reservoir 4 memiliki nilai porositas 4-23% dan tebal 400-1500 m. (3) Reservoir pada lingkungan Slope; Reservoir 6 memiliki nilai porositas 4-17% dan tebal 100-400 m.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Tarakan Basin is potentially containing hydrocarbon, but not all areas of this basin containing hydrocarbon. In this research area has been conducted exploration activity. From the data of LATIH-1 and BUNYUT-1 wells in area research are found oil and gas show at Lower Oligocene interval. therefore conducted research about reservoir characteristic Lower Oligocene interval of Tarakan Basin, North Kalimantan.





Research workflow begin with well seismic tie, faults and horizons interpretation, electrofacies analysis, wells correlation, petrophysic analysis, gross depotional environment map and distribution of porosity quality. The purposes of this research are to identifed of structure pattern from the available data, Analyze reservoir characteristic Lower Oligocene interval from subsurface data, and to identified paleogeography of Lower Oligocene interval.





Based on the results of the Gross Depotional Environment map at the Lower Oligocene Interval there are three deposition environment namely distal barrier reef, deep shelf and slope. The wells in the study area only penetrated two facies that is distal barrier reef by Latih-1 well and NW Berau-1 well, and slope by Bunyut-1.





Reservoir in the research area based on reservoir quality order and facies, as follows: (1) Reservoir in the Deep shelf environment; (a) Reservoir 1 has a porosity value of 10-26% and a thickness of 500-1000 m, (b) Reservoir 2 has a porosity value of 9-22% and thickness of 600-900 m, (c) Reservoir 3 has a porosity value of 7-18% and thick 500-900 m, (d) Reservoir 5 has a porosity value of 5-16% and a thickness of 500-1000 m. (2) Reservoir in Distal barrier reef environment; Reservoir 4 has a porosity value of 4-23% and 400-1500 m thick. (3) Reservoir in Slope environment; Reservoir 6 has a porosity value of 4-17% and a thickness of 100-400 m.
