Ekosistem riparian sungai Cimanuk pada sub-DAS Cimanuk Hulu mengalami penurunan kualitas. Perlu adanya usaha restorasi ekosistem riparian di wilayah ini. Dalam menentukan lokasi restorasi ekosistem riparian sungai Cimanuk bagian sub-DAS Cimanuk Hulu digunakan faktor geomorfologi meander sungai sebagai salah satu pertimbangannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan meander sungai Cimanuk (sub-DAS Cimanuk Hulu) yang stabil berdasarkan radius kelengkungan meander, menentukan lokasi meander sungai Cimanuk yang stabil berdasarkan radius kelengkungan meander, dan menentukan metode restorasi hutan riparian pada meander sungai Cimanuk yang tidak stabil. Data kedalaman dan lebar sungai perlu disampling langsung dari lapangan lalu diinterpolasi dan ekstrapolasi untuk menentukan kedalaman yang tidak dapat dianalisis secara spasial. Dari data kedalaman dan lebar sungai keseluruhan ini kemudian dapat ditentukan data luas penampang meander sungai. Untuk penentuan radius kelengkungan meander didapatkan melalui pengolahan data secara spasial menggunakan software ArcGIS 10.1. Setelah data luas penampang meander dan radius kelengkungan meander didapat, barulah kestabilan setiap meander sepanjang sungai yang dikaji dapat ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 495 meander yang terdapat sepanjang sungai kajian, hanya 12 meander yang stabil dan 483 meander termasuk kategori di bawah / kurang dari batas kestabilan. Sungai kajian melewati 8 kecamatan dan ke-12 meander yang stabil tersebar pada 4 kecamatan yaitu Cikajang (1), Banjarwangi (1), Cigedung (4), dan Bayongbong (6), serta pada daerah dengan elevasi 800 – 1600 mdpl. Metode restorasi meander sungai yang dipilih adalah dengan menggunakan komponen vegetasi dengan sistem tegakan campuran dimana jenis tumbuhan yang disarankan dipilih berdasarkan sistem perakarannya, yaitu arsitektur akar dan nisbah Indeks Cengkeram Akar (ICA) dan Indeks Jangkar Akar (IJA).

Deskripsi Alternatif :

The Cimanuk river riparian ecosystem in the Upper Cimanuk sub-watershed area has quality decreased. There needs to be a riparian ecosystem restoration effort in the region. The river meander geomorphology factor will be used as one of the considerations in determining the restoration location of the Cimanuk riparian ecosystem in the sub-watershed area of the Upper Cimanuk. The aim of this research is to determine the stability of the Cimanuk river meander (Upper Cimanuk sub-watershed) based on meandering curvature radius, determine the location of the stable Cimanuk river meander based on meandering curvature radius, and determine the method of restoring riparian forest on meanders Cimanuk river (Cimanuk Hulu sub-watershed) that is unstable. Depth and width data of the river need to be sampled directly from the field and then interpolated and extrapolated to determine the depth that can not be analyzed spatially. The area cross section of river meander data can be determined from the data of the depth and width of the whole river. The radius of meander curvature obtained through spatial data processing using ArcGIS 10.1 software. Once the meander cross-sectional area and the meander radius of curvature are obtained, then the stability of each meander along the studied river can be determined. The results showed that from the 495 meanders found along the study river, only 12 meanders are stable and 483 meanders are not, which are include under the category / less than the stability limit. The studied river study through 8 districts and the 12 stable meanders spread over 4 districts : Cikajang (1), Banjarwangi (1), Cigedung (4), and Bayongbong (6). The stable meander is also in an area with an elevation of 800 - 1600 mdpl. The selected river meander restoration method is by using vegetation components with mixed stand systems where the recommended plant species are chosen based on their rooting system (root architecture and the IJA and ICA.
