Saat ini pengolahan timah di Indonesia terpusat di daerah Kepulauan Bangka - Belitung yang terkenal kaya akan timah. Salah satu perusahaan yang mengelola kekayaan alam timah tersebut adalah PT. Timah Tbk. Dalam hal ini, penelitian dilaksanakan pada salah satu unit



PT. Timah Tbk. yaitu washing plant tambang darat Nudur III dan washing plant tambang darat Pemali di Bangka. Permasalahan utama dalam pengolahan bijih timah di PT. Timah (Persero) Tbk yaitu rendahnya recovery pada proses pengolahan bijih timah halus, sementara kondisi cadangan di masa depan di dominasi oleh tailing eks penambangan yang didominasi bijih timah berukuran halus, lalu peralatan proses pengolahan yang tidak berjalan dengan



maksimal sehingga perlunya dilakukan pengambilan data primer di lapangan yang diaplikasikan dengan plant survey di lokasi pencucian dan proses uji laboratorium.



Plant survey yang dilakukan di lokasi penelitian meliputi pengamatan proses pengolahan, penentuan titik-titik sampling, persiapan alat-alat sampling, lalu sampling pada setiap titik proses pengolahan timah serta preparasai sampel dan pengkodean. Setelah plant survey



dilakukan, maka hasil sampel dikirim ke laboratorium pusat PT. Timah Tbk di Pangkal Pingang untuk dilakukan uji analisis ayak dan analisis grain counting. Hasil yang didapat dari uji laboratorium yaitu distribusi ukuran mineral dan kadar mineralnya. Dari pengolahan data hasil analisis laboratorium, didapati fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa tailing pada washing plant Tambang Nudur III terdeteksi adanya timah halus dalam



jumlah kecil lalu pada washing plant Tambang Pemali terdeteksi adanya kehilangan timah halus. Untuk karakteristik bijih timah pada washing plant Tambang Nudur III didominasi oleh fraksi ukuran -50+70#, -70+100# dan -100+150#. Sedangkan karakteristik fraksi ukuran bijih timah pada washing plant Tambang Pemali cukup merata. Lalu pada washing plant Tambang Nudur III plant survey I didapat recovery 0% untuk jig primer, 91,85% untuk jig sekunder dan 98,74% untuk sakan sedangkan plant survey II didapat recovery 100% untuk



semua instalasi pencucian. Sedangkan pada washing plant Tambang Pemali didapat recovery 79,89% untuk jig primer, 95,90% untuk jig sekunder, serta 48,31% untuk sakan.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Nowadays, Indonesia's tin processing is sentralized in Bangka-Belitung area, which is famous for its tin. One of company, that is manage this natural capital, is PT. TIMAH Tbk. Research were done in Nudur III and Pemali site in Bangka, both of them are belong to PT. TIMAH Tbk. The lower level of recovery in fine ore tin processing is being a prominent problem of tin ore processing in PT. TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, on the other hand, the resources condition of tin is dominates by tailing after mining activity, which has fine size. Other problem is comes from the insufficiency of processing equipments, so that the primary data interpretation were done in the site, which is applicated in washing plant using a plant survey



and then were tested in laboratory. Plant survey, that were done in research site, is including the observation of tin processing, sampling points determination, sampling equipments preparation, sampling in each of tin



processing point, sample preparation, and labeling. Then, samples were sent to the central laboratory in Pangkal Pinang for sieving analysis and grain counting. The results were recieved as minerals content and size distribution. Some facts were obtained from the laboratory analysis, washing plant Nudur III site had



small contains of fine tin ore in losses, whereas in washing plant Pemali site there is some losses of fine ore tin. Tin ore characterization in washing plant Nudur III site is dominates by size fraction of -50+70#, -70+100# and -100+150#. Tin ore characterization in washing plant Pemali site is quite apportionment. In plant survey I washing plant Nudur III site the recovery



were obtained as 0% for primary jig, 91.85% for secondary jig and 98.74% for sakan, then in plant survey II the recovery obtained 100% at all equipments. In washing plant Pemali site the recovery were obtained as 79.89% for primary jig, 95.90% for secondary jig, and 48.31% for sakan.
