A study of a design of an accelerometer based on strain gage is presented in this paper. The aim is to evaluate the performance by using a MATLAB/Simulink simulation. To obtain the Simulink model, the structural of the strain gage is modeled by using Finite Element Method, and then transformed into an equation of motion in generalized coordinates. By using Bond Graph technique, the model of the accelerometer that includes the structure part and the electronic part is developed. Simulation are then performed with several input signals. The results show that the designed accelerometer has acceptable performance in the frequency range up to 30Hz
