This paper present an example of digital signal processor application using Motorola DSP56002EVM for power measurement. We develop an algorithm and demonstrate how DSP56002EVM can be used for power measurement. The aim is to introduce digital signal processor application in a more familiar way seen from power engineering field point of view, where DSP56002EVM is learning tools that readily available in audio signal processing application. DSP56002EVM then programmed to perform calculation of power by sampling the voltage and current signal input. We succed to obtain instantaneous power waveform, average power value, reactive power value, and current signal. Other power related parameters such as RMS voltage, RMS current, frequency, and power factor (PF), are also calculated and processed.
