Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS) pada perbedaan padat tebar intensif terhadap performa ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Pemeliharaan ikan nila berukuran 5,35 ± 0,99 gr dilakukan selama 30 hari dengan sistem single-batch. Desain penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dengan tiga ulangan, yaitu padat tebar 20; 40; dan 60 ikan/100 L air.. Komponen RAS yang digunakan mencakup tangki kultur, tangki sedimentasi, protein-skimmer, tangki karbon aktif, dan biofilter yang berisi bakteri nitrifikasi. Selama masa pemeliharaan parameter fisika-kimia air dan total bakteri heterotrof diukur secara berkala untuk mengetahui kualitas air dari masing-masing perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang didapat, rata-rata nilai kualitas air pada kepadatan tebar 20; 40; dan 60 ikan tidak berbeda signifikan (P > 0,05), dimana nilai NH4+ (0,42 ± 0,39; 0,507 ± 0,34; 0,442 ± 0,5 mg L-1), NO2- (0,379 ± 0,23; 0,395 ± 0,26; 0,533 ± 0,36 mg L-1), NO3- (70,305 ± 25,88; 70,112 ± 25,8; 70,498 ± 26,05 mg L-1), dan total bakteri heterotrof (858,13 ± 167,19; 928, 75 ± 217,69; 1175 ± 227,56 CFU ml-1). Selama 30 hari pemeliharaan ikan nila, parameter biologis dari padat tebar 20; 40; dan 60 ikan tidak berbeda secara signifikan (P > 0,05), dimana berat akhir (9,73 ± 0,31; 10,27 ± 0,39; 9,88 ± 0,85 gr), Survival rate (75 ± 4,08; 65 ± 12,25; 71,11 ± 9,26 %), Feed Convertion Ratio (1,47 ± 0,08; 1,39 ± 0,07; 1,55 ± 0,12), dan Specific Growth Rate (1,99 ± 0,11; 2,17 ± 0,13; 2,03 ± 0,28 % hari-1). Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian, RAS mampu menjaga kualitas air dalam kondisi optimum ikan nila hingga padat tebar 60 ikan/100 L air dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari performa ikan nila pada setiap padat tebar. Oleh karena itu, performa terbaik ditemukan pada padat tebar 60 ikan/100 L air.

The aim of this study was determine the performance of Nile tilapia fingerlings (Oreochromis niloticus) raised at difference stocking density in a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS). The experimental system was performed in a single-batch nursery in 30 days. Fish (5,35 ± 0,99 gr) were stocked in triplicate at 20 (A) ; 40 (B) ; and 60 (C) fish in 100 L water. The RAS components used in this study includes culture tanks, sedimentation tank, protein skimmer, activated carbon tank, and biofilter containing nitrifying bacteria. During the rearing period the physico-chemical parameter and total heterotrophic bacteria of water are measured periodically to determine the water quality of each treatment. Based on the results, the average value of water quality at stocking density 20 ; 40 ; and 60 fish were not significantly different (P > 0,05), which the values of NH4+(0,42 ± 0,39; 0,507 ± 0,34; 0,442 ± 0,5 mg L-1), NO2- (0,379 ± 0,23; 0,395 ± 0,26; 0,533 ± 0,36 mg L-1), NO3- (70,305 ± 25,88; 70,112 ± 25,8; 70,498 ± 26,05 mg L-1), and total heterotrophic bacteria (858,13 ± 167,19; 928, 75 ± 217,69; 1175 ± 227,56 CFU ml-1). For 30 days rearing, biological parameters of stocking density 20 ; 40 ; and 60 fish did not differ significantly (P > 0,05), which the final weight (9,73 ± 0,31; 10,27 ± 0,39; 9,88 ± 0,85 gr),survival rate (75 ± 4,08; 65 ± 12,25; 71,11 ± 9,26 %), feed convertion ratio(1,47 ± 0,08; 1,39 ± 0,07; 1,55 ± 0,12), and specific growth rate (1,99 ± 0,11; 2,17 ± 0,13; 2,03 ± 0,28 % hari-1). Based on this study, RAS could maintain the water quality remains at optimum range for tilapia growth up to 60 fish and best performance was found at 60 fish in 100 L water.
