Interaksi antara ATCO (Air Traffic Control Officer/Air Traffic Controller) dengan peralatan radar merupakan salah satu bentuk interaksi antara manusia dengan mesin (sistem manusia mesin). Tujuan dari penggunaan teknologi berupa radar adalah meningkatkan efisiensi dan keselamatan

serta untuk mengurangi beban kerja ATCO (Air Traffic Controller). Oleh karena itu, untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh penggunaan radar terhadap beban kerja ATCO (Air Traffic Controller), maka dilakukan perbandingan beban kerja saat menggunakan radar dan non-radar.

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peralatan ATC Simulator - Radar Approach/APP milik Sekolah Tinggi Penerbangan Indonesia (STPI) dengan menggunakan metode SWAT (Subjective Workload Assesment Technique). Proses simulasi dibagi menjadi 2, yaitu simulasi pemanduan lalu lintas udara

dengan menggunakan prosedur radar (radar control services) dan simulasi pemanduan lalu lintas udara dengan menggunakan prosedur non-radar (non-radar control services). Dari hasil pengukuran, beban kerja ATCO (Air Traffic Controller) diperoleh perbandingan bahwa radar control services adalah optimum (moderate), sedangkan beban kerja non-radar control

services adalah tinggi (over load). Jika dilihat dari segi waktu penyelesaian simulasi radar control services dapat diselesaikan lebih cepat 9,08 menit daripada non-radar control services.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Interaction between Air Traffic Controllers and radar equipment is a human – machine interaction system. The aim of using technology such as radar in the system is to increase/improve efficiency and safety and also to reduce the workload of Air Traffic Controllers. In this thesis, the workload of Air Traffic Controllers using a radar equipment was compared with the workload of Air Traffic

Controllers using a non-radar equipment in order to identify how far the effexts of radar use towards workload are.

This research was executed in ATC Simulator - Radar Approach/APP at Indonesian Civil Aviation Institute (ICAI) using SWAT method. The process of simulation was divided into 2 types ; a simulation of air traffic control using radar control (radar control services) and a simulation of air traffic control using non-radar control (non-radar control services), using a standard simulator exercise.

The results of measurement/calculation on Air Traffic Controllers workload shows that the workload for radar control services is moderate while the workload for non-radar control services is over load. Further, in average Air Traffic Controllers in radar control services can complete about nine munites faster than those in non-radar control services.
