Kemasan sebagai alat pelindung produk yang dikemas serta memu¬dahkan pemindahan sekaligus sebagai alat promosi, dituntut untuk tampil baik dan dapat memenuhi syarat yang diperuntukkannya. Di samping mutu, penggunaan bahan baku yang tepat dan ramah lingkungan serta mudah diolah kembali pun menjadi faktor desain yang sangat menentukan.

Bandung sebagai Ibu Kota propinsi Jawa Barat terkenal dengan wisata kulinernya. Aneka ragam makanan banyak terdapat di Bandung, diantaranya yaitu menu siap saji yang berasal dari Jawa Barat yang tersedia di berbagai restoran khas makanan Sunda. Namun sayangnya hingga kini belum ada kemasan bawa pulang yang benar-benar menunjukkan karakter dari menu Jawa Barat yang ada di dalamnya, baik dari segi desain maupun penggunaan material.

Kemudian penulis mulai melakukan beberapa pertimbangan desain, mulai dari bentuk pola, teknik pembentukkan kemasan hingga menjadi 3 dimensi, hingga bentuk kemasan secara keseluruhan. Selain itu penentuan material yang akan digunakan pada kemasan pun tak kalah pentingnya, selain dituntut harus ramah lingkungan, material pembungkus pun harus mampu menjamin keamanan makanan yang dibungkusnya.

Tak hanya terpaku pada bentuk desain serta fungsinya saja, penulis ingin mengangkat budaya dari suatu daerah terhadap kemasan yang dibuat, yaitu aplikasi dari makanan khas Sunda. Oleh karenanya, dari segi bentuk maka kemasan yang dibuat merupakan adaptasi dari salah satu bentuk kemasan tradisional. Produk terbagi atas dua bagian, yaitu kemasan bagian dalam, serta kemasan bagian luar. Dimana masing-masing kemasan menggunakan material yang berbeda yaitu kertas dan pulp pelepah pisang dengan laminasi. Namun keduanya tetap mengandung konsep dasar, yaitu material yang biodegradable.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

The package as the product protective equipment that was package as well as facilitated the transfer at the same time as the promotion implement, demanded to appear good and could fill the condition that used. Beside the quality, the use of the raw material that was exact and environment-friendly as well as easy to be processed again also to the decisive design factor.

Bandung as the capital of the West Java province famous with the tour culinary. Various styles of food were often received in Bandung, among them that is the menu was ready to eat that came from West Java that was available in various typical restaurants Sudanese food. However unfortunately up to now did not yet have the package to be brought came home that really show the character from the West Java menu available inside, both from the aspect of the design and material.

Afterwards the writer began to carry out some consideration of the design, from the form of the pattern, the formation technique of the package until becoming 3 dimension, through to the form of the package on the whole. Moreover the material determination that will be used to the package also did not lose the importance, apart from being demanded must be environment-friendly, material the wrapper also must be able to guarantee the security of food that was wrapped by him.

Only was not motionless in the form of the design as well as his function, the writer wanted to promote the culture from an area against the package that was made, that is the application from typical food of Sunda. Therefore, from the aspect of the form than the package that was made be the adaptation from one of the form of the ethnic package. The product was divided by above two part, that is the package of the interior, as well as the package of the exterior. Where respectively the package used material that was different that is paper and pulp pelepah bananas with the lamination. However of them continued to contain the concept of the foundation, that is material that biodegradable.
