Di era globalisasi ini, perkembangan teknologi menyebabkan pergeseran preferensi masyarakat di berbagai bidang, terutama di media komunikasi. Globalisasi mengacu pada konektivitas ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya dengan orang-orang di belahan dunia lain. Perubahan zaman dan perkembangan teknologi tentu mempengaruhi naik turunnya industri pos di Indonesia.

Pos Indonesia adalah perseroan terbatas dan badan usaha milik negara di Indonesia yang bergerak di bidang jasa pos. Intensitas persaingan usaha yang tinggi dalam bisnis pos, Pos Indonesia perlu menyusun Rencana Jangka Panjang Perusahaan di tengah tantangan yang cukup besar. Sejak diberlakukannya Undang-undang (UU) Indonesia no. 38 tahun 2009 tentang kegiatan pos di Indonesia, dengan memberikan kesempatan kepada entitas swasta, perusahaan milik daerah, dan koperasi untuk melakukan kegiatan pos di Indonesia. Hasil regulasi ekosistem tersebut menimbukan banyak pesaing dalam bisnis surat dan paket.

Karena keadaan berikut, Pos Indonesia diharuskan untuk mengubah perusahaannya, terutama dalam bisnis surat dan paket. Sebelum mengubah, perusahaan harus melihat sisi paling dasar terlebih dahulu, yang merupakan kapabilitas perusahaan sebagai organisasi. Oleh karena itu, Pos Indonesia perlu mengetahui kondisi kapabilitas organisasinya, lalu mengoptimalkannya. Untuk mengoptimalkan kapabilitas organisasinya, Pos Indonesia harus mengetahui kondisi kapabilitas organisasi saat ini, kemudian membandingkannya dengan harapan kemampuan organisasinya di masa depan.

Kapabilitas organisasi Pos Indonesia belum optimal karena belum terencana dengan baik terutama pada manusia dan teknologi. Untuk aspek orang, peningkatan harus difokuskan pada peningkatan bakat, membuat kolaborasi yang kompak, dan membuat perencanaan struktural bagi para manajer. Untuk teknologi, perbaikan harus difokuskan pada integrasi TI, keterampilan TI karyawan, dan mendorong gagasan inovasi bagi karyawan.



Deskripsi Alternatif :

In this era of globalization, technological developments lead to a shift in people's preferences in various fields, especially in the communications media. Globalization refers to economic, social, and cultural connectivity with people in other parts of the world. Changing times and technological developments surely affect the rise and fall of the postal industry in Indonesia.

Pos Indonesia is a limited liability company and a state-owned enterprise in Indonesia that engaged in the field of postal services. The high intensity of business competition in the postal businesses, Pos Indonesia should arranged Long Term Corporate Planning in the middle of a considerable challenges. Since the enactment of Indonesian Law (UU) no. 38 of 2009 concerning the postal businesses, this law provides discretion for postal organizers by providing opportunities to private entities, and regional-owned enterprises and cooperatives to conduct postal activities in Indonesia. Result of the regulation also make changes in business ecosystem in the emergence of many competitors.

Due to the following circumstances, Pos Indonesia was required to transform its company, particularly in the business of mails and packages. Before transforming, the company must look at the most basic side first, which is capabilities the company had as an organization. Therefore, Pos Indonesia needed to know the condition of its organizational capability, then optimize it. To optimize its organizational capability, Pos Indonesia must know the condition of current organizational capability, then compared it with the expectation of its future organizational capability. Pos Indonesia organizational capability was not optimal yet because it had not been well planned especially in people and technology. For people aspect, improvement should be focused on improving the talent, making the compact collaboration, and making the structural planning for the managers. For technology, improvement should be focused on IT integration, employeeÂ’s IT skills, and encouraging the idea of innovation for employees.
