Wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Indramayu merupakan wilayah dengan potensi sumber daya wilayah pesisir yang tinggi, mulai sumber daya hayati hingga non-hayatinya.
Wilayah pesisir juga merupakan daerah pertemuan antara daratan dan lautan yang sangat dinamik. Dinamika yang terjadi di wilayah pesisir dibedakan oleh penyebabnya yaitu faktor alami dan faktor manusia. Faktor alami yang mempengaruhi wilayah laut di sekitar pesisir dijabarkan dalam paramater-parameter oseanografi. Pasang surut laut dan arus laut merupakan sekian dari parameter oesanografi yang mempengaruhi kerusakan pantai di wilayah pesisir. Tugas akhir ini mencoba untuk mengkaji karakteristik dua parameter oseanografi tersebut di wilayah pesisir Kabupaten Indramayu dengan melakukan pengukuran langsung di lapangan, perhitungan-perhitungan untuk mengkuantifikasi kedua paramater tersebut, dan konfirmasi hasil terhadap data-data sekunder yang didapat.
Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian memberikan informasi pola pasang surut laut di sepanjang garis pantai Kabupaten Indramayu tidaklah seragam. Pola arus laut di daerah Kabupaten Indramayu sangat di pengaruhi oleh faktor non-pasut (angin) selama selang waktu pengamatan. Pola dari dua parameter oseanografi ini dikaitkan pula dengan kerusakan wilayah pesisir di daerah penelitian.
The coastal area of Indramayu's regency has the high potential of biological-renewable resources and non biological-renewable resources.
Coastal area is also a meeting area between land and sea, and it is very dynamic. Dynamics that occur in coastal areas are distinguished by the cause of natural and human factors. Natural factors that affect the coastal seas around are known as oceanographic parameters. Ocean tide and current are fews of the oceanographic parameters that affect and damage the coastal area. This final task try to assess the characteristics of these two oceanographic parameters at the coastal area of Indramayu's regency using direct field measurements, the calculations to quantify these two parameters, and to confirm the results to the existing secondary data.
The results of this study provide information of ocean tide patterns along Indramayu's coast are not uniform. And pattern of ocean current in this area is highly influenced by non-tidal factor (wind) during the interval time of observation. These two oceanographic parameters patterns are related as well to the damage of the coastal area at research area.
