Abstrak :
Pemaparan logam berat yang berlebihan, terutama kadmium dan timbal dari peralatan makan yang terbuat dari keramik, berbahaya bagi tubuh kita. Untuk itu, diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui jumlah kadmium dan timbal yang terlepas dari alat makan yang terbuat dari keramik ke dalam makanan dan minuman. Metode spektrofotometri serapan atom digunakan untuk penentuan kadar kadmium dan timbal. Peralatan makan yang terbuat dari keramik diisi larutan simulasi (asam asetat 4%) dan disimpan pada suhu kamar selama 24 jam. Dari 15 sampel, kadmium terdeteksi pada 13 sampel dan timbal terdeteksi pada sembilan sampel. Walaupun demikian, pelepasan kadmium dan timbal dari peralatan makan yang terbuat dari keramik ke dalam larutan simulasi masih dalam batas yang diperbolehkan.
Abstract :
The excessive leaching of heavy metal, especially cadmium and lead from ceramic cookwares, is highly toxic for our body. Therefore, measurement of the leached cadmium and lead from ceramic cookwares into food and drinks is required. The concentration of cadmium and lead were analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopic method. Each of 15 units ceramic cookwares were filled with 4% acetic acid and were stored for 24 h at room temperature. In leach solution, the presence of cadmium was found in 13 samples, while lead was found in nine samples. However, the concentration of leached cadmium and lead from ceramic cookwares were still lower than the allowed concentration.
