Daerah penelitian secara administrasi berada di Lapangan X, Kabupaten Nduga dan Kabupaten Yahukimo, Provinsi Papua. Secara geologi, daerah penelitian terletak di Cekungan Akimeugah. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian berjumlah tiga buah sumur pengeboran yaitu sumur I, sumur V, dan sumur N, serta data seismik yang melintang dari utara ke selatan melewati sumur I yang digunakan untuk penampang geologi.







Analisis geokimia dilakukan pada sumur I, sumur V, dan sumur N untuk menentukan karakteristik kuantitas, kualitas, dan kematangan material organik setiap formasi. Sedangkan pemodelan 1D dilakukan pada sumur I untuk menggambarkan sejarah geologi dan sejarah kematangan berdasarkan nilai Ro. Analisis geokimia yang dilakukan meliputi pirolisis Rock-Eval dan analisis pantulan vitrinit. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, Formasi Buru memiliki kuantitas rendah, belum matang, dan tipe kerogen I, II, dan III. Kelompok Batugamping Nugini memiliki kuantitas rendah, belum matang, dan tipe kerogen II dan III. Formasi Piniya memiliki kuantitas cukup, matang, dan tipe kerogen II dan III. Formasi Brug memiliki kuantitas rendah, matang akhir, dan tipe kerogen II. Formasi yang berpotensi memiliki batuan induk adalah Formasi Piniya.







Pemodelan 1D dilakukan pada sumur I, didapatkan bahwa terjadi tiga kali fase pembentukan cekungan yaitu pre-rift (Karbon – Perm), syn-rift (Trias – Jura Awal), dan post-rift (Jura Awal – Pleistosen). Terdapat proses erosi pada Formasi Brug dan Formasi Piniya yang menyebabkan ketidakselarasan. Awal kematangan dimulai pada umur Pliosen (2,33 juta tahun yang lalu) pada dasar Formasi Brug, mulai terjadi tahap matang pada umur Pleistosen (1,15 juta tahun yang lalu) pada dasar Formasi Brug. Pada umur Resen didapatkan bahwa tahap matang awal terdapat pada Formasi Buru bagian bawah, Kelompok Batugamping Nugini, dan Formasi Piniya, sedangkan tahap matang terdapat pada Formasi Piniya dan Formasi Brug.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Administratively, research area is located in field X, Nduga Regency and Yahukimo Regency, Papua Province. Geologically, research area is located in Akimeugah Basin. Data used on research equal three well, that is well I, well V, and well N, as well seismic data which is cross from north to south through well I for geological section.







Geochemical analysis were conducted to well I, well V, and well N to determine charactestic of quantity, quality, and maturity of organic matter each formation. Modelling 1D were conducted to well I for represent geological history and maturity history based on Ro value. Geochemical analyses which is conducted involve Rock-Eval pyrolisis and vitrinite reflectance analyses. Based on the analyses, Buru Formation have low quantity, immature, and belong to type I, II, and III. New Guinea Limestone Group have low quantity, immature, and belong to type II and III. Piniya Formation have fair quantity, mature, and belong to type II and III. Brug Formation have low quantity, post mature, and belong to type II. Formation that potentially has a source rock is Piniya Formation.







Modelling 1D were conducted to well I, the result is occured three times forming of basin is pre-rift (Carbon – Permian), syn-rift (Triassic – Early Jurassic), and post-rift (Early Jurassic – Pleistocene). There is process of erosion on Brug Formation and Piniya Formation which is caused unconformity. Early mature started at Pliocene (2,33 Ma) on base of Brug Formation, and then mature started at Pleistocene (1,15 Ma) on base of Brug Formation. Recently early mature occured on bottom Buru Formation, New Guinea Limestone Formation, and Piniya Formation, as well mature occured on Piniya Formation and Brug Formation.
