Daerah penelitian (Area 14) yang termasuk bagian dari pada lapangan minyak Duri Utara mempunyai luas 6.2 X 0.9 Km2 dengan total sebanyak 65 sumur yang aktif berproduksi hanya 14 sumur secara primary recovery Water cut yang tinggi dan set PBTD (Plug Back Total Depth) dari hampir seluruh sumur aktif menjadikan masalah krusial di area 14. Data-data log dari sumur-sumur yang ada diderah penelitian hanya memiliki kurva Standard dari GR dan Resistivity saja. Hanya ada 1 (satu) sumur yang memiliki data log lengkap dan contoh batuan inti (sumur EDJ-A12). Batas kontak minyak air (OWC) pada sumur ini ditentukan berdasarkan kurva Sw dan penurunan nilai kurva Resistivity pada pengamatan contoh batuan inti di kedalaman -660 (TVDSS) Pemetaan rasio Minyak dilakukan berdasarkan penentuan batas kontak minyak air (OWC) dengan bagian bawah dari masing masing reservoir batupasir P2, P3, P4 dan P5. Berdasarkan peta overlay kontur OWC terhadap PBTD pada 14 sumur yang sedang berproduksi diarea 14 tersebut ternyata mempengaruhi water cutnya. Dimana set kedalaman PBTD berada diatas dari kedalaman OWC memiliki water cut yang rendah, demikian pula sebaliknya. Ternyata dari 14 sumur hanya ada 1 (satu) sumur yang mempunyai kedalaman PBTD diatas OWC (3P-75A) dengan water cut 27% . Sedangkan 13 sumur lainya mempunyai water cut rata-rata diatas 60%.

Deskripsi Alternatif :

Area 14 is a part of North Duri Development field that have dimensional: 6.2 X 0.9 squares Km with total 65 wells which 14 wells are producing as primary recovery right now. High Water Cut and PBTD (Plug Back Total Depth) set of almost actives wells become a crucial problem in Area 14. Almost well Log data in area 14 have standard curves like: Gamma Ray (GR) and Resistivity only. There is only one well has completed logs and continuous core namely EDJ-A12. Oil Water Contact (OWC) in well EDJ-A12 can be defined based on reading of Sw curve and decreasing of Resistivity curve value from the core sample analysis that have depth on -660 feet of the True Vertical Depth Sub Sea (TVDSS). Oil Water Ratio Map can be created based on OWC line that across to base of each reservoir sands are P2, P3, P4 and P5. Percentage of the high Water cut values can be shown based on overlay the OWC depth contour Map with PBTD of 14 production wells. Actually only one well (3P-75A) that has lower water cut (27%) because the PBTD set above from OWC. On the other hand for other 13 wells have PBTD set on bellow OWC with average Water Cut values of each well more than 60 %.
