ABSTRAK:
Proses pembuatan model dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai proses dan metode. Variasi
jenis bahan yang dipergunakan sebagai bahan dasar model disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan
pembuat model (yang dikenal dengan sebutan modeler). Alat dan sarana yang
dipergunakan disesuaikan dengan tingkat kesulitan model yang akan dibentuk. Semakin
detail objeknya, maka sarana yang digunakan akan semakin kompleks. Hal ini juga
berkaitan dengan praktisi yang terlibat sebagai modeler, contohnya : mahasiswa, dosen,
desainer, insinyur, seniman dan penikmat hobi model making. Selain dilihat dari
kebutuhan modelernya, kompleksitas dari objek model itu sendiri juga sangat berperan.
Seiring dengan perkembangan jaman, kegiatan membuat model tidak hanya dilakukan
untuk kebutuhan profesi. Kegiatan ini dinikmati pula oleh masyarakat luas sebagai hobi
yang dapat menghasilkan keuntungan finansial bagi si modeler. dan kerap kali
menghasilkan bentuk yang menjadi trend di masa yang mendatang. Sarana yang tepat
dibutuhkan untuk menghasilkan kualitas desain yang lebih baik. Dengan kegiatan ini
diharapkan semakin banyak kreatifitas dan ide orisinal yang tertuang dalam prosesnya
sehingga menghasilkan desain yang segar dan inovatif.
ABSTRACT:
The process of model making can be done through a wide variety of methods and
process. Various materials has been used to accommodate the modelers need. The variety
of tools and facilities are determined based on the complexity of the form which the
modelers wish to obtain. A complex detail needs an equipment that has the capability of
making such precision. This factor has a lot to do with the person who acts as the modeler
such as student, designer, engineer, artist, craftsman and model maker hobbies.
As time goes by, model making isnt just an act of a certain profesions demand. It is now
known as a hobby which capable of producing economical benefits for the modeler and
often produces a trendsetter form on its time and even the future. The proper tools is
needed to achieve a quality design and models. The purpose of this acticity is to
accomplish an original idea and the creativity that forms in the making of the model, with
the goal to produce a breakthrough design
