Pemodelan airtanah merupakan simulasi yang dapat menggambarkan dan memprediksi keadaan airtanah baik untuk masa sekarang ataupun masa yang akan datang. Keadaan airtanah dapat berupa arah aliran, tinggi muka airtanah, dan lain-lain.
Daerah pantai Ujunggenteng yang menjadi daerah penelitian terletak di Kabupaten Sukabumi merupakan daerah potensial pariwisata, yang diprediksi dapat berkembang dengan cepat. Pada masa sekarang, airtanah di sepanjang pantai Ujunggenteng memiliki karakteristik air tawar, tapi di masa mendatang seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk potensi terjadinya intrusi air laut akan semakin besar. Untuk itu diperlukan berupa studi hidrogeologi di daerah pantai Ujunggenteng agar konservasi sistem hidrogeologi tetap terjaga di masa mendatang.
Studi yang dilakukan berupa pemodelan sistem hidrogeologi menggunakan software Modflow 3.1, hasil pemodelan akan memberikan gambaran kondisi sistem hidrogeologi di masa sekarang dan mencoba membuat prediksi berupa gambaran sistem hidrogeologi, sejauh mana potensi intrusi air laut akan terjadi di masa mendatang.
Modelling of seawater Intrusion into groundwater system in Ujung Genteng, Kecamatan Ciracap, Kabupaten Sukabumi.
Groundwater modelling is a simulation that can be used to explain and predict ground water condition, in present and future time.
Ujung Genteng coastal area where this research took place, is a potential tourism site and is expected to be developed soon. Currently groundwater along Ujung Genteng coast has plain water characteristics. But not in a long time, in tandem with the raise in population number and ground water consumption, probability of salt water intrusion is getting bigger. That is why, a hidro-geology study on this area important in helping to conserve its natural hydro-geology system.
Study that been done is modelling of hydro geology system using software Modflow3.1. The outcome will give sufficient overview of current hydro geology condition and used to forecast how far salt water intrusion could happen.
Result from this modelling study could perform as initial overview for any relevant individual and especially for local government who act as regulator of Ujung Genteng Area.
